But the very soft chenille-like fabric seems to slide around on a smooth surface, and is almost "too soft" and sheddy for extreme heat (an apartment with just one or two window air conditioners, not right next to the couch). The color is wonderful though! It is soft, the cats love it, and it will cut down on their hair spreading all over the hardwood rooms. The hair stays stuck on the sofa cover more, and then you can wash the cover.As other reviewers mentioned, this couch cover is relatively heavy but let’s face it, that’s what a couch cover needs to be in order to stay in place. Naturally when material is not sown to the seats/pillows, you will have to straighten the the material after people get up and leave. A lighter material would even be worse.I have to say, I love everything about this sofa cover and ROOMLIFE did an excellent job in creating/manufacturing it.When the time comes to wash it, I will take it to the closest laundromat to wash in a much bigger washing machine than I have at home. This type of material needs space to move in a machine and get a good rinse, not being pushed into a home washer with much less capacity. Between a large (commercial) washing machine and a large dryer, this piece will be restored to it’s original beauty.The material feels actually a lot softer than the original material of my couch and it has a slight velvety feel to it.As you can see in the picture, I have one of those sofas and a half and it is awkward to use any type of cover. But with this quality item and a blanket draped over the still open area, it will look just the way I like itIf you’re trying to cover a mishap or try to avoid spots/blemishes on your couch, this blanket is definitely the perfect alternative to make your life easier at a great price.
